How much is this coin worth?
It has a reeded edge, the front displays a left facing Liberty head wearing a cap inscribed LIBERTY in incuse letters. The cap is ornamented with wheat ears, cotton leaves, and cotton bolls. It says E PLURIBUS UNUM is at the top, the date below is 1878, and 13 stars are arranged around the border 7 on the left,and 6 on the right.
On the back the inscription GOLOID / METRIC / 1 – G. / 16.1 – S / 1.9 – C / GRAMS 14.25 is centered within a circle of 38 stars. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is above and the denomination 100 CENTS is below.
Could an one please tell me how muc its worth????????????
Find a reputable coin dealer in your town and take the coin there for an evaluation. The inscription on the back (reverse) doesn’t sound like any authentic U.S. coin I have ever heard of.
As a teenager, I collected coins and only stopped because someone stole my whole collection. I had at least 20 Morgan dollars, and none of them bore an inscription like you describe.
